You keep closing those lips,
and I can't help but notice
your slow rise of day
to take your pain away.
The morning comes in sequence
and lying down on pillows
made of sleepy clouds
to help ease our sorrows.
You've got some skeletons tucked away
deep inside the house you stay.
It's all right, I'll hold you tight,
and let you drift into the night.
Sail away, sail away
before the war inside of you makes the bay.
Sail away, sail away
into the ocean deep, it welcomes you to stay.
And I can't believe my eyes,
you've already made your way
into another world where colorful skies are grey.
I still can't believe my eyes,
I've never felt this low
in this world where I'm alone, a world you'll never know.
Only time will tell of your arrival.
Only time will tell.

Lazy
04:04
|
|||
It's not enough.
It's not enough.
It's not enough for two.
Sarah, Sarah, you're lazy.
There's not enough.
There's not enough.
There's not enough for two.
Sarah, Sarah, you're lazy.

Cyanide
06:19
|
|||
Rising from a snowy night where I can't tell
who we really are.
Seeking through your soul, searching for an answer.
Is that what we've become?
Looking through the windows of hazel eyes;
those cyanide eyes.
Peeking through the air that we breathe in;
your truths and your lies.
Will you come talk to me?
Will you please talk to me?
Feeling lost in those lips I succumb to your taste, and your kiss.
Fire burns the candles on your tables: teakwood and peppermint.
Warm sheets and warm heart from your electric bed that we lie in.
Falling snow your cat watches through your window after a night of sin.
Please just talk to me.
Come on, whisper to me.

Sunny skies and clammy hands
and a bottle of rum to keep me company.
Stranded on this world I dwell
and the trees and birds make it so lovely.
A letter written in chicken scratch
stuffed inside this empty bottle.
Words that express my love for you,
saying, la la la.-la la.-la la.
An island is a lonely boy
and a lonely boy needs a lonely girl.
Save my soul if you get my message
'cause all the sea takes up all the world.
'Cause all the sea takes up all the world.
It's only been a couple of years
since I had the chance to talk to you.
But even though its gone on for so long,
you still make me want to write these songs.
Your calm voice still lingers in my ears
from when we were younger.
And I sit back and watch the world go by.
An island is a lonely boy
And a lonely boy needs a lonely girl.
Maybe there are little angels above
thinking "is there someone watching over me?"
Is there someone watching over me?

Morning Sky
06:28
|
|||
I had a dream last night about you,
and saw a world through your eyes.
You sure have passed a lot of people
in your lifetime, and so have I.
I had a dream about my mother;
the Leo from Phoenix, Arizona.
Many days and nights have passed her
and now she's gone to love a monster.
Where will you go when things aren't as real?
I'll let you know just the way I feel.
And how you sorrows turned and dried?
Will you live or will you die?
I lied in bed and thought about you
and how you cruised both your hands
across my head and on the face
you kissed last night at your place.
The rain is shooting down much harder;
thunder and stars have filled the skies.
I'd like to come home to see you,
driving down the main line
and you're home alone,
it's good to see you there.
Let both our words fill up the air
when all our dreams has passed us by,
will we see the morning sky?

Broken Beach
06:30
|
|||
I am trapped inside a dream,
like a baby in a crib.
A solitude confinement,
and I don't know what I did.
I'm clearing out the demons,
the ones you left me with.
And after all your friends have come and gone,
I'm still trying to resist.
Tugging at your mental cage,
making my touch known.
Reducing fear behind the lines,
and making sure you're safe at home.
And you seem you are far enough,
to where your hand can reach
the furthest edge of where you stand
at the border of Broken Beach.

Half Moon Bay
05:50
|
|||
The saddest eyes she wore,
so longing and forlorn
that made me love you more and more.
The bluest heart she owns
as she gets more and more alone
as the deepest cello drones.
The oldest yard cat sings
her mournful bellowing
from branches in the trees.
The stillest oceans wreck
with them bring havoc and death
upon the land they'll sweep.
The painful midnight cries
when one leaves the world behind.
And here in Half Moon Bay;
hear the hum of the highway.
Highway one.
Grey clouds, muted suns.
Down by the footbridge stream
I am walking in a dream.
Wailing in my dreams.
Cause winter time was through,
I could not be there for you.
I couldn't care for you.
And nothing clears these stains,
not the January rains
rising in the stream.
Down by the bay-leaf tree,
our lonely bird eyes meet.
And under the blue moon beams,
I am wandering in my dreams.
Walking in my - wandering in a dream.
Highway one.
Grey clouds, muted suns.

Familiar
01:14
|
|||
Wind was rushing through the hills.
The night was getting colder, as I recall.
The sky was screaming out a name,
so indistinct I didn't bother at all.
Seemed so familiar to my ears.
I think I've forgotten everything over the years.

Mother Earth
07:46
|
|||
The blue ocean, soft, and ships that sail.
And a sunrise lives beneath the sea.
The cool waters shown beyond the pale
plays its song so we can see
our mother earth.
Swept away from our prairie land
and thoughts of our Philadelphia.
You placed a world between my hands:
a panorama rendered sights of love:
our mother earth.
Creaky doors in this ocean house
in evening skies to see you here
and trying not to make the slightest sound
for fear of living in fear
in our mother earth.
Cigarette smoke floats around your neck.
Night has fallen for our tired friends.
A healing heart mends with a peck
on the lips until the tides in oceans end
here in our mother earth.
